Super Smash Bros Ultimate Series Amiibo Figures
WARNING! NEW (and returning) CHALLENGERS APPROACHING! Coming off Nintendo’s announcements at this year’s E3 was the long-awaited reveal of the newest entry in the Smash Bros series. Super Smash Bros Ultimate sees the return of EVERY. SINGLE. CHARACTER. from past Smash games! The Ice Climbers, Pichu, Young Link, Wolf, Snake, and more are returning in the BIGGEST Smash Bros roster to date. Of course, new fighters will be joining with the introduction of Splatoon’s Inklings, and the long-requested Metroid villain Ridley. But with new fighters means new amiibo! The Hunt is back on to complete your collections with three newly announced amiibo of Inkling, Ridley, and Wolf!

Functionality & Compatibility:
Currently, the full details of their functionality haven’t been revealed. They’ll most likely work similarly to how they were in Super Smash Bros for WiiU & 3DS, where they would be scanned into the game as an NPC controlled “Figure Players” that you can train and customize. They’ll even carry over any data you have saved from Smash Bros WiiU/3DS.
Nintendo has also confirmed that not only will the past line of Smash Bros amiibo be compatible with SSBU, but so will ever amiibo of each represented character! So for example, if you never managed to get Link’s Smash Bros amiibo but have any of his from Breath of the Wild, you can use those instead!

It’s safe to assume they’ll be bringing out more for other returning characters like the Ice Climbers, Snake, and the rest in future. Perhaps maybe even new ones for characters with new looks like Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf.
The initial release date for all three is December 7th, 2018. So, be sure to order yours as soon as possible so they can join you for the Ultimate battle right away!
