“Fighting against toxicity and cleaning up the Siege environment is a very real and important issue.” – Ubisoft

You better be careful what you say, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege players. Ubisoft takes seriously in banning players in using hate speech, homophobic slurs, and racist comments in text chat. Players who use hate speech will be banned automatically with the first offense of 30 minutes. Ubisoft has confirmed to PC Gamer via email the new banning system.

According to Ubisoft, toxicity management is a priority for the publishers to focus on for the next years. It monitored the frequent use of racial and homophobic slurs. Because of this, Ubisoft banned players depending on how extreme the offense. It might take two days, seven days, 15 days or even permanent ban from the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege game.

Here’s a part of the Code of Conduct from Ubisoft.

Any language or content deemed illegal, dangerous, threatening, abusive, obscene, vulgar, defamatory, hateful, racist, sexist, ethically offensive or constituting harassment is forbidden. – via Ubisoft

Here are some of the recent complains from the players to Ubisoft on Twitter.

Following the recent complains from the banned players from Twitter, Ubisoft confirmed to PC Gamer that the publisher implemented the new banning system. The player is not allowed to join any Rainbow Six Siege games including the custom games if he/she is banned from the game for 27 minutes (officially, this must be in 30 minutes). On second and third offenses, the ban period lasts for 2 hours. If there’s a third offense, Ubisoft will investigate the player’s account that could lead to a permanent ban as per Six Siege Code of Conduct.

Ubisoft updated its Code of Conduct via a blog. Here are the some of the forbidden conducts.

Forbidden Conducts
  • Harassing or bullying other players via verbal or written communications.
  • Any language or content deemed illegal, dangerous, threatening, abusive, obscene, vulgar, defamatory, hateful, racist, sexist, ethically offensive or constituting harassment.
