When Square Enix finally broke their silence on Final Fantasy VII Remake during their press conference at E3 2019, longtime PlayStation fans of the game were thrilled to finally grasp some updates. And to keep the hype train going for this upcoming remake of Final Fantasy VII, Sony Interactive Entertainment was kind enough to share a bunch of game updates from Square Enix via PlayStation.blog.
The new update highlights the members of Avalanche, the Turks, battle system, new Materia, the Chocobo & Moogle summon, menus, minigames, and locations.
You can check them all out below, courtesy of PlayStation.blog.
Chocobo & Moogle use their special move “Stampede” to run down the enemy with a herd of chocobos. While equipping Summon Materia, you will be able to summon a powerful ally once the special summon gauge fills up. Summons will fight alongside you automatically on the battlefield, but you can also use your own ATB charges to have them perform special abilities. Just before they leave the fight, your ally will unleash a powerful special move!
You can play darts at the dartboard in Seventh Heaven.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released in multiple parts. During E3 2019, Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase took the stage and discussed tidbits of information about the game. According to the producer, the massive content of the game, which is the first part, will be released on March 3, 2020, which will require two Blu-ray discs. However, the initial release of the game will still not cover the full Final Fantasy VII story.
Game Overview
For a brief overview, the upcoming game is a remake of the 1997 PlayStation title, Final Fantasy VII. The game follows the role of the mercenary Cloud Strife as he and eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE battle against the wicked Shinra megacorporation and the rogue former Shinra soldier Sephiroth. The gameplay is planned to combine real-time action and turn-based elements just like with Dissidia Final Fantasy.
The remake will only include the part of the story in Midgar, but according to Kitase, it will be a “fully standalone gaming experience.” The producer added, “At that point, we decided we’re going to focus this game on Midgar and what happened in Midgar,” Kitase said. “And unfortunately, we can’t say anything more about future games after that, because we don’t know ourselves, really.”
More so, Kitase said that he and his team in Square Enix are still “fleshing out” what will be covered in the game’s next chapter.
