Final Fantasy 7 Remake
PlayStation 4 – US, EU, AU & JAPAN
Square Enix has posted a very important message on its website last night. Moreover, the post spoke on behalf of the development team behind Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Wherein they discussed the current pandemic situation that was being experienced by many countries right now, as well as how it affects FF7 Remake’s physical copy distributions and shipments.
Check out some of the highlights we took from Square Enix.
We had some hard decisions to make during the final few weeks before launch due to disruption to distribution channels caused by the spread of the COVID-19 virus. These unique circumstances have made it very difficult to align timing of our global shipping. Our highest priority is that all of you, including those who live in countries currently facing the biggest disruption, can play the game at launch, so we made the decision to ship the game far earlier than usual to Europe and Australia.
As a result, there is a greater chance that some of you in these regions will now get a copy of the game prior to the worldwide release date of April 10. For other western regions, including the Americas, copies will be shipped this week and we feel optimistic that most of you will receive the game for launch day. However, due to the challenging situation we cannot provide delivery dates for each country and each retailer. – Yoshinori Kitase and Tetsuya Nomura
According to Square Enix, in order to let the fans have their copies in time of the release. They have decided to ship the game earlier than usual to Europe and Australia to make it on the launch date or even earlier. In addition, for Western regions like North America, they’ve shared that the game will be shipped this week.
However, Square Enix has one request. Read them below!

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released in multiple parts. During E3 2019, Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase took the stage and discussed tidbits of information about the game. According to the producer, the massive content of the game, which is the first part, will be released on the official launch date, which will require two Blu-ray discs. However, the initial release of the game will still not cover the full Final Fantasy VII story.
In case you missed it…
Game Overview
For a brief overview, the upcoming game is a remake of the 1997 PlayStation title, Final Fantasy VII. The game follows the role of the mercenary Cloud Strife as he and eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE battle against the wicked Shinra megacorporation and the rogue former Shinra soldier Sephiroth. The gameplay is planned to combine real-time action and turn-based elements just like with Dissidia Final Fantasy.
The remake will only include the part of the story in Midgar, but according to Kitase, it will be a “fully standalone gaming experience.” The producer added, “At that point, we decided we’re going to focus this game on Midgar and what happened in Midgar,” Kitase said. “And unfortunately, we can’t say anything more about future games after that, because we don’t know ourselves, really.”
